We call any communal land we own 'amenity areas'. These can include grass verges, open land with grass, shrubs, hedges and trees, communal gardens around blocks of flats, hard surface areas and semi-wild areas. We employ specialist contractors to work in these areas. The contract includes:
-
Grass cutting
-
Hedge cutting
-
Tree inspection and pruning;
-
Maintaining and pruning shrub beds;
-
Weed treatment of hard surfaces.
-
Maintaining play areas.
You can find details of our standards for grounds maintenance in our leaflet 'Outside your Home'.
We also employ gardeners in our sheltered schemes to ensure that the communal gardens are kept neat, tidy and attractive. |

We offer a free gardening service to tenants who are elderly or disabled. The Our leaflet 'Outside your Home' sets out the criteria for the service, and provides details of what is covered.
We also offer a 'Paid for' garden service, for tenants who are not eligible for the free Aided Garden service. The standards are the same, and the service costs about £160 a year.
Please note that there may be a waiting list for both the above services.
