Repairs, Maintenance and Improvements

We operate priority-based service for day to day repairs, in partnership with our maintenance contractor,  Osbornes.  Repairs should be reported through  the  Contact Russet team, using the 24-hour freephone repair line, 0800 197 2880.

Most of our properties now have central heating, but we operate a 'fast-track' scheme to install heating in the remainder, at the tenant's request, and at no extra cost.

We have a planned maintenance programme, which includes re-wiring, re-roofing and repointing and we issue a leaflet giving details of all planned maintenance and improvements projects for each year. 

 Estate Refurbishments    Other Improvement Schemes      Asbestos

We set aside a large budget each year for estate refurbishment, which can include:

  • replacement fencing;
  • off-road parking provision;
  • repairing or relaying footpaths;
  • improvements to garage forecourts;
  • 'soft' landscaping (planting and other landscape features to improve the environment of our estates.

We consult with residents on proposed refurbishments and ask for feedback on completed work.  Suggestions for future work are always welcome -  please contact the appropriate Neighbourhood  Housing Officer in the first instance.

Our other improvements schemes include:
  • A 'fast-track' scheme to create hard-standings to provide in-curtilage parking.    There may be a waiting list for this scheme.
  • Home Refurbishments to upgrade kitchens and bathrooms.   We target the oldest properties first, and will send tenants fulll details as and when their homes become eligible under this scheme.

The above schemes are available at no extra cost to our tenants.
